An atmospheric countryside landscape inspired by a quiet moment in nature
One early evening, I sat beside a quiet beck, listening to the gentle trickle of water and watching the light shift across the landscape. The stillness of that moment — the hush of distant trees, the soft path winding ahead, the sky thick with the promise of twilight — stayed with me. This painting is the result of that memory.
“Afternoon by the Beck” is an original oil painting on panel, capturing the calm, introspective beauty of the English countryside. I painted it with a palette of earthy blues, greens, warm browns, and muted greys, using layered brushwork to echo the textures of mossy banks, worn paths, and filtered light.
This work is oil paint on plywood panel, with the scene painted on the edges. Its a diptych painting (2 panels) they can be hung other, as photographed or with a gap between. Ready to hang.
